Custom Design delivered to Ackley

In-house designers turn napkin sketches and old low-res logos into print-ready vector art. Free with every order, proof in 24 hours. For Ackley, that comes with published pack pricing and door delivery in 5 to 7 business days.

With about 1,500 people spread over 2.5 square miles, Ackley gets the same flat delivery promise as everywhere else we serve: 5 to 7 business days to any door. The same run covers the neighboring communities too: Aplington, IA (9 mi), Geneva, IA (9 mi), Steamboat Rock, IA (10 mi) all order from the same shop at the same published pricing. Camp Dodge, around 69 miles from Ackley, anchors the local military community we print for every week.

No storefront visit required. Send a rough idea or finished art, a real designer builds the proof at no charge, and the finished gear ships straight to Ackley.

A typical week of custom design orders from this corner of Iowa mixes Ackley crews with neighbors like Aplington, 9 miles over, all running through the same designer, the same proof cycle, and the same tracked delivery.

What Ackley gets designed from scratch

Full designs from a written idea

A sentence of description is enough input for a full designed proof inside a day. What you approve in writing is what ships. That rule has no exceptions.

Era-correct type and layouts

Typography matched to the era, from Vietnam-period stencil to modern athletic block. Mixed sizes and colors in one run are standard here, not a special request.

Event artwork packages

One design system across shirts, banners, and signs so everything matches. Reorders match the first run exactly because we keep your art and specs on file.

Merch line concepts

A small collection designed to sell, not just to exist. Every price is published before you talk to a person, so the budget math happens on your terms.

Logo cleanup and vector redraws

A phone photo of a faded shirt becomes clean, print-ready vector art. Packs mix garment colors freely, so squads, shifts, or grade levels can each get their own.

Unit crest and emblem builds

Crests and emblems built with correct heraldry and licensing rules observed. A real designer, not an upload widget, checks every file before it goes near production.

Why order from a shop built for the military community

This shop exists for the military community, and it shows in how orders run. Deadlines are treated like formation times, proofs are honest instead of optimistic, and when Ackley customers call, a person who owns the order answers.

It also means we say no when we should. If a design will not print well at the size you want, or a date cannot be hit, you hear it before you spend money, not after.

Build it on the real garment and watch the price calculate live.

The Design Lab puts your art on the real garment, takes your size counts, and totals the whole order, shipping included, without asking who you are.

04 //

What to print it on

Garment choice makes or breaks the order. These are the blanks Ackley customers pick most, all designable online on real product photos.

Classic Cotton Tee

New designs debut on the Classic: 80-plus colors guarantee the right backdrop for the art. If a design will not print well at the size you want, you hear that before money changes hands.

Premium Heavyweight Tee

When the design is the product, the garment dyed heavyweight makes it feel like a brand, not a handout. Ask for the honest option and you get it, even when it is the cheaper one.

Max Heavyweight Street Tee

Max weight, boxy drop, oversized print field: the streetwear formula. Mixed sizes and colors in one run are standard here, not a special request.

No artwork? That is the normal case

Half the orders we take begin as a phone photo of a sketch, an old shirt, or a sentence describing the idea. A designer turns that into print-ready vector art at no charge, sends the proof inside 24 hours, and revises it until you sign off in writing. Nothing is produced before that signature, which is why what shows up matches what you expected.

What it costs

The table below is the actual price list Ackley customers order from, light cotton tee, front print included, no asterisks.

15 pack$250$16.67 ea$18$4 ea

Three add-ons exist and all are flat per piece: the back print at the table rate ($3 from 25 pieces, $2 from 50), the oversized front at $3 or $2 depending on quantity, and extended sizes at $6 or $4. Nothing else gets added. The Design Lab applies every rule automatically, and the written quote confirms the total before anything is charged.

How it works, start to finish

01

Brief

Start in the Design Lab on the exact garment we print, or send whatever you have through the quote form. Rough ideas are welcome, that is what the free design service is for.

02

Proof

One day later the proof is in your inbox: your art, your garment, your colors, at true print scale. Revisions never cost a cent.

03

Approve

You approve in writing before production starts. No surprises at the box opening, because you already saw the shirt.

04

Print and ship

Production and shipping run 5 to 7 business days standard. Rush options exist and get quoted honestly against your date.

05

Reorder

We archive your art and garment specs, which makes the second order a two minute conversation.

08 //

Shipping and turnaround

Count 5 to 7 business days, production included, for tracked delivery to Ackley addresses. At 100 pieces shipping costs nothing; under that, the flat rates in the table are the whole story.

The roster is the packing list: every size counted into the box, tracking issued at pickup, and any shortage or transit damage made right at our cost without argument.

Common questions

Can you handle a large order for your Ackley crew?

Large runs are the core business: hundreds of pieces, mixed sizes, multiple colors, one named contact who owns it from first proof to the delivery scan.

How do 2XL and larger sizes work?

The extended-size rule fits in one line: add $6 per piece below 25 total, $4 per piece at 25 or more. The Design Lab applies it automatically.

What is your return policy?

Custom work does not come back: due to custom orders, all work is finalized and no returns are accepted. The protection is up front instead, a free proof that must be approved in writing before anything prints, so check sizing and art carefully at that stage.

Is there a minimum order?

Order ten, order fifty, order five hundred: 10 pieces is our floor, and for your Ackley crew, bigger packs simply pull the per-piece price down.

What file types work best?

File quality is our problem, not yours: vectors are ideal, 300 DPI PNGs work, and weak files get redrawn at no charge.

Do you ship to APO and FPO addresses?

We do, at the same pace as domestic orders. Deployed and overseas service members at APO and FPO addresses are covered alongside all 50 states.

Can I see the price before I talk to anyone?

Yes, and without giving up your email: the Design Lab keeps the complete total, packs to shipping, on screen while you design.
