Custom Design for units at NAWS China Lake

Units at NAWS China Lake order designed from scratch gear from us because the process respects how Navy orders actually run: one named contact, a proof in 24 hours, and a date that gets treated like a formation time.

NAWS China Lake sits beside Ridgecrest, a community of about 28,000 people that our delivery routes already cover daily. Families and units spread across the surrounding towns are covered too: Ridgecrest Heights, CA (3 mi), China Lake Acres, CA (6 mi), Inyokern, CA (9 mi) all sit inside the same delivery circle.

Whether it is a full unit run or a single retirement piece, pricing is published up front, the front decoration is included in every price, and nothing goes to production until your point of contact signs off on the proof in writing.

Custom Design orders tied to NAWS China Lake rarely stay on post: family runs from Ridgecrest and Ridgecrest Heights (3 miles out) ride the same proof cycle and the same delivery routes.

What NAWS China Lake gets designed from scratch

Event artwork packages

A single visual system covering everything the event prints. What you approve in writing is what ships. That rule has no exceptions.

Merch line concepts

A tight little product line, designed to move at the table. If a design will not print well at the size you want, you hear that before money changes hands.

Logo cleanup and vector redraws

A phone photo of a faded shirt becomes clean, print-ready vector art. Bring a rough idea, even a phone photo of a whiteboard, and our designers make it print ready at no charge.

Unit crest and emblem builds

Crests and emblems built with correct heraldry and licensing rules observed. Nobody chases an order here. Your contact tells you where it stands before you have to ask.

Full designs from a written idea

Describe it in a sentence; a designer builds it and proofs it within 24 hours. Packs mix garment colors freely, so squads, shifts, or grade levels can each get their own.

Era-correct type and layouts

The year on the shirt sets the type style, and the team knows the difference. Start from a napkin sketch if that is what you have. Turning rough into print ready is the job.

Why order from a shop built for the military community

This shop exists for the military community, and it shows in how orders run. Deadlines are treated like formation times, proofs are honest instead of optimistic, and when Navy units call, a person who owns the order answers.

The same discipline applies inward: an unrealistic date or a design that will not print well gets flagged before you commit, not explained after.

No sales call needed to get a number.

Ninety seconds in the Design Lab gets you a complete number: garment, print, sizes, upcharges, and shipping, all before any contact form.

04 //

What to print it on

Start from the garment and the rest follows. Among Navy units, these three blanks carry most of the orders, each designable online on its real photos.

Classic Cotton Tee

Most new designs land on the Classic first. 80 plus colors means your art gets the exact backdrop it needs. Deadlines get treated like formation times, not suggestions.

Premium Heavyweight Tee

Serious designs deserve the garment-dyed heavyweight, which reads brand rather than handout. What you approve in writing is what ships. That rule has no exceptions.

Max Heavyweight Street Tee

The 7.5oz boxy blank is where streetwear concepts land, oversized front or full back. Mixed sizes and colors in one run are standard here, not a special request.

05 //

The art department is included

Design help is not an upsell here, it is how orders start. Describe the concept in a sentence, attach whatever reference you have, and within 24 hours a real designer returns a proof drawn as clean vectors, era-correct where it matters. Revisions cost nothing and continue until the proof is right, and your written approval is the only thing that sends it to production.

The Design Lab is there when you want to drive: upload, place, and price the design yourself on the exact garment we print.

06 //

What it costs

No mystery pricing. These are the published packs on our light cotton tee, front print included, and NAWS China Lake units watch the per piece cost fall as quantity climbs.

Options price per piece: back prints at the listed rate (falling to $3 at 25 and $2 at 50), oversized full-body fronts at $3 under 25 pieces or $2 above, and 2XL-plus sizes at $6 under 25 pieces or $4 above. Every heavier garment keeps this same pack shape at its own numbers, and the Design Lab totals it live while you build.

How it works, start to finish

01

Brief

Send the idea through the quote form or build it yourself in the Design Lab. A napkin sketch photographed on a phone counts, our designers have built full unit runs from less.

02

Proof

Twenty-four hours gets you a designer-built proof on the exact blank you chose. Iterate freely until it is right.

03

Approve

Nothing goes to press until you approve the proof in writing. What you sign off on is exactly what prints, that is the whole point of the proof.

04

Print and ship

Standard turnaround is 5 to 7 business days from approval to doorstep, with rush available when the calendar demands it.

05

Reorder

Your art and specs stay on file, so reorders match the first run exactly, down to the ink.

08 //

Shipping and turnaround

Every order ships tracked to NAWS China Lake and Ridgecrest addresses with standard production plus shipping at 5 to 7 business days. APO and FPO addresses ship at the same pace, so deployed elements are covered. Free shipping kicks in at 100 pieces, and pack shipping rates below that are published, not surprises at checkout.

Every box leaves counted, tracked, and matched to your roster. Shortages and shipping damage are on us to fix, fast, because delivery day is the only day the customer remembers.

Common questions

How do 2XL and larger sizes work?

Simple math: 2XL and up cost $6 more per piece on small orders and $4 more per piece from 25 pieces. No other size fees exist, and the Design Lab totals it live.

What is your return policy?

Finality is the nature of custom work: no returns once it prints. Your protections live earlier in the process, in the free proof and the written approval that nothing skips.

Is there a minimum order?

Order ten, order fifty, order five hundred: 10 pieces is our floor, and for your unit at NAWS China Lake, bigger packs simply pull the per-piece price down.

What file types work best?

File quality is our problem, not yours: vectors are ideal, 300 DPI PNGs work, and weak files get redrawn at no charge.

Do you ship to APO and FPO addresses?

Yes. We ship to all 50 states and to APO and FPO addresses for deployed and overseas service members.

Can I see the price before I talk to anyone?

That is the point of the Design Lab: the complete number, packs, back prints, size upcharges, shipping, updates live while you design, before any contact form.

How long does shipping take?

Five to seven business days, all in, from approval to arrival. Rush exists for real deadlines and gets an honest yes or no up front.
